Amanullah Khan remembered at Alhamra

The event was attended by many including provincial minister Fayyaz Ul Hassan Chohan

LAHORE : A condolence reference was held at the Lahore Arts Council Alhamra in memory of renowned comedian Amanullah Khan, according to a press release. The event which was held in collaboration with the cultural journalist foundation of Pakistan saw the participation of several artists.

Provincial Minister Fayyaz Ul Hassan Chohan was the chief guest of the event .On the occasion , he labelled Amanullah  as the hero of his field , and the best stage performer of Pakistan. "Amanullah is the king of comedy. All Junior artists call him guru," Chohan said.

Executive Director Lahore Arts Council Ather Ali Khan paid a special tribute to the comedian for his services calling him a valuable asset for stage, comedy and drama industry. He said  that the service rendered by the great actor for showbiz industry specially in the field of comedy would be remembered for long.

Others who attended the event included Sohail Ahmed, Khalid Abbas Dar , Pervaiz Kaleem and Seba Butt.

Last week the comedian passed away at the age of 70 in Bahria Town Hospital Lahore. He was reportedly suffering from a number of illnesses, including kidney and liver failure which has been reported as the cause of death. He had also suffered a cardiac arrest last year, and was admitted to the Intensive Care Unit in January owing to severe pneumonia.
