Senior journalist Hasan Mansoor passes away

Mansoor's colleagues, several politicians and activists have expressed their sorrow over his sudden demise

KARACHI: Senior journalist Hasan Mansoor passed away at the age of 54 on Thursday and would be laid to rest on Friday (today). According to the deceased's family and friends, he suffered a fatal heart attack.

Mansoor, aside from being a renowned journalist, was also a short-story writer and a poet. Having graduated from the University of Karachi, Mansoor had been affiliated with journalism for over three decades. He worked for different media organisations, including Daily Times, The Star and a French news agency by the name of Agence France-Presse.  He had currently been associated with the daily Dawn.

Mansoor's colleagues, several politicians and activists have expressed their sorrow over his sudden demise.

He left behind a widow, a son and a daughter.
