New cane commissioner takes charge

Sources revealed that former cane commissioner Shah was found responsible for the sugar and flour crisis

LAHORE: Punjab government has ordered the Cane Commissioner Wajid Ali Shah to leave the charge immediately, while Member Revenue Board Nadeem Abbas Bhango has been ordered to take charge as the commissioner of Punjab.

Sources revealed that former cane commissioner Shah was found responsible for the sugar and flour crisis; hence he has been withdrawn from his charge.

Shah has also served as the food director of Punjab. He has also been accused of misguiding the FIA officials for the flour and sugar crisis. After the orders of Prime Minister Imran Khan, the FIA has launched an investigation to determine the culprits of the sugar and flour crisis. The Punjab government has also asked Shah to present before the FIA. They held him accountable for the sugar and flour crisis.

Reportedly, Shah was ordered to leave the charge on January 27, but he did not.
