Imran Khan addresses 'Save Pakistan' rally in Faisalabad
Thousands of people came to attend the event and eye witnesses said more than 50,000 people participated at the Jalsa, said PTI sources.
PTI chairman Imran Khan said the time had come for a showdown with the “looters and plunderers” of the country in order to end the sufferings of the masses and bring a positive change in their life.
PTI leaders Dr Arif Alvi, Ahsan Rasheed,Umer Sarfaraz Cheema, Mian Mehmood-ur-Rasheed, Salooni Bukhari, Zaheer Abbas Khokhar, Dr Yasmin Rashid, Ishtiaq Malik and others were also present at the rally.
Khan congratulated the people of Faislabad and stated that “Inqalab” has started in Pakistan from here and the people of Pakistan “will make all the corrupt people accountable for looting their wealth.”
He also said that youth of Pakistan would not allow anyone to rig the elections.
He said, “Youth are the biggest asset of Pakistan. I appeal you all to play your active role to change the destiny of Pakistan. There will be a bigger revolution this time in Pakistan than 1970, the people of Pakistan are awake now and they must fight for their rights and get rid of these corrupt rulers.”
Khan pledged that PTI would transform the country into a real welfare state in which the masses would get free justice, health and education besides other necessities of the life.
PTI launched the ‘Save Pakistan Movement’ from Multan on June 25, while the second round of the Movement has taken place in Faisalabad, which would be followed by weekly sit-in in front of the Parliament during the Ramazan.

Imran Khan is a man of vision, he is inteligent, honest and Committed man. But what make me afraid is the team of persons he will have for his mission should have nearly the same qualities as he is having otherwise it will be difficult for him to go ahead the way he wants and it will be a great dilemma for us as a nation if he doesnot get this team, but InshaAllah with the help of God he will do it.

We love IK. He has succeeded in giving a vision to the youth, now it's our duty to wake up others. Lot of hard work is required for success, we'll have to work for him, to make pakistan a welfare state, where there is rule of law.

I would urge all Imran Khan supporters to only register their own vote but to start a campaign in their locality and on internet through which they should:
1. urge relatives, friends, acqauntances, colleagues, neighbours, fellow passengers/travellers, fellow namazies in the mosques, fellow people in markets/bazaars/malls etc to register their vote and to vote for PTI/Imran Khan 2. to print short urdu/pashto/balochi/hindko/sindhi/brahvi/punjabi/siraiki brochures introducting Imran Khan and PTI to the common man and also showing why the common man should vote for Imran Khan/PTI 3. educate and practically help people to register their own vote and also those of their family, friends etc and to also encourage those people to start a similar campaign as the above one

You HAD to be there in person to see the impact of the rally. Men, women, children, teenagers, young adults-- people of ALL ages were there looking for a change for a better Pakistan- not just young boys as some people think. I was there in person and I can tell you there were definitely 50,000 people, if not more. Those who didn't go will not get a complete picture because the media didn't cover this event properly and we all know why.
sure he seems to be the 'best' of the current lot of politicians, coz he is going out of the way, he is once again showing us the dreams that we are very fond to see... but what concrete plans does he really have ? Pakistan cannot survive on its own... living like an ostrich is good for nothing ... how is he going to fight extremism and corruption ? and what support he has within his party ? surely he cannot win himself the whole national assembly...
i think he will get at max 10 seats in the elections ... which is certainly not good enuff, but it realy doesnt mean that votes are thrown away to already tested and crap politicians...
I don't know how people see him as some kind of greater good at default. He's doing what all politicians do. He is preaching to the choir. He is taking all of the most common views and saying he'll make it happen. If it got them votes, a corrupt politician wouldn't hesitate to claim the same things he does. However, you'll even find bad politicians being smarter in that respect. They'll usually choose a smaller, more realistic, number of issues to champion. The only way to tell the sincere from the corrupt is to hear how they plan to go about doing the things they say. That's how you find out if they gave it any thought and is grounded in reality. Since the corrupt one never really meant it, he won't have much of an answer up until the end and when he enters his position he goes about his selfish motives. The ones who are your actual hope of the change you seek will be able to pull a plan out almost instantly and it will follow a realistic path of actions leading up to the end. Imran Khan actually falls into a special category. He feeds off of the flattery he gets and in striving for more, he keeps piling more and more claims on top of each other and gives a plan that does not follow a realistic progression. To make it a bit more simple, what the result of that is: he'll fail at everything but the public speeches and his obsessed following will accept every excuse without question for his failing to deliver. That makes him a terrible choice. Even the corrupt have an agenda. They'll accomplish one thing or another. Imran Khan is just a tease taking advantage of the hope of the desperate and miserable. Instead of people complaining about the corrupt politician... With Imran Khan they're just going to be lifted up and slammed brutally to the floor, killing the last bit of hope people have because of how flawless he is seen as. Nobody will measure up to the image or be trusted afterwards. Nobody will ever be as good as the worst thing that happened to you. That will not be remotely easy to bounce back from. Imran Khan is not the savior of Pakistan. He is the final nail in the coffin in disguise.

It is evident that your knowledge of basic economics is sub-par but I will try to help you a little. What resources? Reko Diq, Thar Coal, Textile, Agriculture. On top of this, Pakistan has immense potential of utilizing the current agricultural infrastructure to raise crop yields and benefit from all time high food prices. By becoming lesser dependent on energy related imports, Pakistan can significantly improve its balance of payments. During Musharraf era, Pakistan witnessed rapid growth. Why? Investors were confident he was working towards a lesser corrupt governance system while inducing political stability. Pakistan is blessed with the biggest capital of qualified and unskilled labor. If put to proper use, it can yield great results. Only if this political turmoil and electricity issues can be sorted, Pakistan will regain much of its lost economy. There are many ways to attract FDI including the above mentioned. How would he attract expat money? He could offer partnership in infrastructure projects by building investment councils for expats. These expats, can have a major stake in Pakistans economy by purchasing treasury notes. Real estate is another great sector for expats to invest in. Again, all this is only possible if there is transparency, less corruption and good policies. @Cautious:

If Imran Khan is the last hope for Pakistan then I am sure most of my relatives will decide to move. He may not be corrupt but he's an idiot. He sympathizes with terrorists and has no clue about foreign relations or the economy. We are a sad lot of Imran Khan is the last hope.

You need to seriously follow him before passing statements. How is he going to help the poor? By generating jobs. How will he he generate jobs? By exploiting Pakistani resources. Why haven't other politicians done so? Because they are corrupt. Who will give him money to create jobs and invest in Pakistan? Myself and an innumerable number of expatriate Pakistanis are ready to assist in any way possible. Can these expats bring a change? You are living on $ 12+ billion dollar yearly on these expats, its not the IMF bringing in those foregin reserves. How did China transform its economy initially? It grew due to foregin investment from Non-resident Chinese, and same with India
If you look at Pakistan from the outside on a macro level, it is indeed blessed with many resources. Only if we get rid of corruption to a significant level make every sector functional, i.e. Agriculture, Railways, PIA, Steel Mills, Wapda with ample check and balance, no one can stop us from being successfull.

You are indeed mistaken. I am not too sure about what incident you are referring to, but it is NOW that Pakistan needs him most and that he is ready to spend his 60's in its service. You should atleast respect the FACT that he is trying, raising his voice against all evils. Remember, one who does not even condemn oppression in his heart, is part of the crime, let alone his voice and his hand. He is condemning it with heart, his voice, his sweat, his wealth along with a huge number of people. No regrets if he loses, no regrets if he has to face corrupt elections and back out. Atleast he tried, atleast he made an effort unlike you. Look at yourself, and then judge others. Even his opponents do not judge his intentions, show me one politician out there with that quality.
And Allah judges based on intentions, he along with his followers will be rewarded for their intentions, not your 2 cents.

Sir I do not like cricket but I would love to vote for Imran. Just Think: a man is sacrificing his everything to get you people rid of corrupt system but you are bent on proving that no body gonna vote for him. Even if Imran secured a single seat in the elections, this will be our success; the struggle will go on culminating in the final success of PTI and the people of Pakistan. It is just a month that PTI started 'save Pakistan movement' and you see how people flocked to hear him. We will fight till the end even if it takes us decades. I request all the PTI supporters here to work in their respective areas to create vote bank for the PTI. Mere writing a comment here would not suffice. To achieve something substantial you must spare some time to do practical work only then would it be possible to eliminate the corrupt demagogues.
This is how Allah rewards hard work. He slogged away for fifteen years having started an ideology based party from scratch. The usual sharks were there to gobble him up but Imran persevered in the face of all obstacles. If all his current opinion poll statistics translate into a corresponding vote bank he will win the next elections by a landslide inshaAllah.

Its nice that we have identified him as our leader, but we should also learn and show other supporters on HOW to vote for him; the process is kind of crappy.

He is a good man. Remember Pakistanis must remember one thing like JFK said' Ask not what your country has done for you ask what you are doing for your country '. Something like that. If you support this man atleast you will not have a corrupt leader. And he will run the country efficiently. It takes courage to run a hospital like he is doing without expecting anything in return.

It is indeed shocking that even after nearly 64 years of existence as a nation Pakistan remains in the process of being 'saved'. Earlier misgovernance led to its breakup in two. I wonder what we are in for now. I wish someone offered real solutions to the problems we face rather than simplistic cure-alls bandied about to fool everybody for some more time.
Imran Khan is the best and perhaps the last option for Pakistan. His party , PTI, has the right people and agenda.
Those people who raised questions regarding the implemention methods then please try to follow the talk shows Imran Khan and other prominent PTI leaders take part in. They have been explaining their program for the last year or so but still I am amazed that people ask how Imran Khan will carry out his agenda. If you are still not satisfied then in a week or two, PTI will release its first 90 day program. Please read it.

What about Shaukat Khanum cancer hospital? or the Namal College? or the massive aid collection by Imran Khan for flood affectees? Bhai Jaan please try to be objective and look at the positive sides. I remember, Imran refused to play for Pakistan because weather was too hot and humid. Compared to yesterday's weather it was far better during those cricket series. For his own gain and glory he can burn himself and his followers in heat and humidity. The unemployed youth around him do not know that Imran does not believe in any system. He has no plans nor intention to get any responsiblity. He is simply tanning himself which he missed when Pakistan needed him most.

In case you didn't know it -- you already are a welfare state -- your dependent on the charity of the international community (especially the USA) to survive. .. Khan panders to the masses without provide any clue's on how he is going to accomplish what he promises. How is he going to generate funding for all that money he is going to give to the poor? When he breaks relations with the USA how is Pakistan going to obtain international financing? How is he going to get rid of corruption? What's he going to do when the militant's don't disappear with the leaving of the American's? .. Guys a cheap suit ... looks good in the closet but you can't wear it.
