Minor girl killed for gold earrings

Suspect saw Amna wearing gold earrings, decided to snatch them from her with the intention to sell them

UCH SHARIF: A minor girl was killed by a man in Uch Sharif near Bahawalpur. The accused took away earrings worn by the girl and killed her mercilessly, after which he dumped the body in the fields.

Police reached the incident site and shifted the body to a hospital for post-mortem.

The police have arrested the accused identified as Rashid for murdering five-year-old Amna Bibi, daughter of Siddiq, a resident of Makhdoompur. Reportedly, the murderer saw Amna wearing gold earrings and decided to snatch them from her with the intention to sell them.

On the day of the incident, the victim’s parents started searching for her after her sudden disappearance and found her dead in nearby fields.

The police, in view of suspicions, detained the accused who confessed to committing the crime. Police also recovered the earrings from the accused.
