Police software linked to bus terminal system

It will be used to monitor suspicious travellers, criminal record holders

LAHORE: A bus service terminal system has been linked with the Travel Eye software launched by police with the help of Punjab Information Technology Board (PITB).

In this regard, a meeting was held on Wednesday by and SSP administration with a team of the PITB. The newly prepared software is being integrated with the passenger bus service system.

The model was considered in the meeting chaired by SSP Malik Liaquat. The meeting was also attended by SP Security Bilal Zafar, officers from Transport Department and Pakistan Railways.

It was decided to make Lahore Police’s Travel Eye a model for Punjab. “Travel Eye Software project is being gradually improved to monitor suspicious travellers and criminal record holders,” said the SSP.

He maintained that the bus terminals of various categories would be connected to Travel Eye step by step.

In addition, the railway ticketing system will also be integrated with this system. He said that the expansion of Travel Eye across Punjab was the desire of higher authorities. He maintained that the CCPO has taken a keen interest in promoting e-policing. With the help of Travel Eye system, many proclaimed offenders have been caught so far. Liaquat said that bus terminals will issue tickets with passenger identification cards. “In this way, criminal record-holders will be easy to track,” concluded the SSP.
