Work on waste disposal system reviewed

SARGODHA: The Sargodha deputy commissioner has urged the Public Health Engineering Department to ensure early completion of work on a solid waste disposal system. The project is being implemented at a cost of Rs380 million.

The deputy commissioner expressed these views during a visit to sludge carrier and sewage pumping stations. Officials of the metropolitan corporation and Public Health Engineering Department were also present on the occasion.

The deputy commissioner, during his visit, inspected the sludge carrier and disposal stations at Sherazi Town, Gil Wala Chowk and Ali Park.

The DC said illegal connections should be disconnected and cases should be registered against those responsible.

The deputy commissioner also said that stern action should be taken in accordance with the law against irrigators who damaged the sewerage system.
