25th Convocation: 460 FAST students given degrees

Rs50 million was given to various students in need and talent based scholarships this year.

Two hundred and ninety undergraduate and 170 graduate students were awarded degrees at the 25th annual convocation of the FAST-National University of Computer and Emerging Sciences on Saturday.


Asia Khalil, Sonal Shahid and Shiza Zafar were awarded the gold, silver and bronze medals, respectively, in the bachelors of business administration programme. Khawaja Wasey Shoaib, Saba Masood and Abeeda Akram secured the first three positions in the management sciences programme.

FAST’s Lahore campus director Dr Arshad Hussain congratulated the graduating students and said that the university’s programmes were becoming more popular.

He said the number of applicants had increased to 9,000 this year.

He said Rs50 million was given to various students in need and talent based scholarships this year.

Rector Dr Amir Muhammad, General Secretary Rana Ghulam Shabbir, Dean Dr Ayub Alvi and Humanities and Social Sciences head  Dr Sumera Sarfraz were also present on the occasion.
