Peshawar Zalmi's new anthem knocks out PSL's 'Tayyar Hain'

Users can't stop singing, 'Munga, Munga, Peshawar Zalmi' and wishing the official anthem was just as good

As disappointing as the PSL official anthem, Tayyar Hain was for the social media users of Pakistan, the latest Peshawar Zalmi anthem, Zalmi, was admired by Pakhtun listeners all over Youtube and Twitter.

2020's Zalmi featured Shoaib Malik, Kamran Akmal, Javed Afridi showing off their moves with Mehwish Hayat and Hania Aamir dancing to the  rhythm of the Pakhtun rap fused with traditional Rubab playing in the backdrop.

Keeping the Pashtun sentiments in mind, Fortitude has certainly done justice to the track. The catchy beat and chorus has you singing 'Munga, Munga, Peshawar Zalmi' (we are, we are, Peshawar Zulmi), all day long - even if you don't understand most of the song.

Some even suggested that Call's 2018 Hum Zalmi , featuring Mahira Khan, had set the bar too high, however, this one turned out to be even better.

Not only did people love the track, but the video's cinematography, direction and drone operation were highly appreciated.

The more recurrent comments, however, brought back the PSL anthem to the limelight, suggesting how it could have been better, had it been made the same way.

Zalmi 2 Zalmi 3 Zalmi 4 Zalmi 5

This does not mean the song did not receive criticism at all - in fact some users suggested it was too  groovy to be a cricket anthem track. Adding that there was less cricket and 'more party' happening in the song. Others, however, claimed that the Pakhtoon representation could have increased.

Nevertheless, majority of the users loved it and with the PSL opening tonight, no one can wait any further to finally go and enjoy it.
