Magsi tops Cholistan Jeep Rally qualifying round

As many as 53 vehicles were registered in the ‘prepared’ category and 61 in stock category

BAHAWALPUR: Nadir Magsi secured first position in the 15th Cholistan Jeep Rally’s qualifying round on Thursday.

The registration and tagging process was completed as the rally commenced in the Cholistan desert.

As many as 53 vehicles were registered in the ‘prepared’ category and 61 in stock category. A three-kilometre track was used for the qualifying round. Magsi set a record of 1.48 minutes and secured the first position. Asif Fazal secured second position and Sahibzada Sultan got third.

Meanwhile, in the stock category race, Zafar Magsi finished the race in one minute and 58 seconds and secured first position.

As many as 114 drivers are participating in the rally.

Prepared category stage 1 race, followed by a bonfire, will be held on Friday, while the stock category and women's race rounds will take place on Saturday.
