CHISHTIAN: A man has complained that his newlywed wife escaped early in the morning with valuables from the outskirts of Chishtian on Thursday.

As per police, Mohammad Qasim, a resident of Bilalkot, married Sameera Bibi, resident of Ali Town, in a local lawyer's chamber.

She was given gold, cash, clothes and other valuables. Sweets were also distributed at the time of Nikkah.

Reportedly, the woman fled with gold, cash and other valuables when the groom went to offer Fajar prayers in a mosque.

Qasim filed a complaint at Saddar City Police Station but no case has been filed yet. “I have nothing left with me and we have not been able to contact her till now,” he said.

Qasim maintained that he had filed an application against Sameera and those who arranged the marriage.
