In Islamabad, construction on 3 plazas halted

Building material depots established between street 23 and 27 of Sector I-10/4 were also removed

ISLAMABAD: The Enforcement Directorate of the Capital Development Authority (CDA), with the assistance of Islamabad Administration and Islamabad Police and other relevant departments, stopped construction work on what it deemed were three illegal plazas in the city while other structure and encroachment were removed.

As part of its anti-encroachment drive, the Enforcement Directorate said that action was taken in different areas of the city on Monday.

In an operation in Sector G-7/2, an illegally-constructed boundary wall in street 53 was demolished while encroachments from the vicinity of government accommodations adjacent to Khadda market in Sector G-7/4 were also demolished.

Similarly, during another operation, the directorate demolished three illegally-constructed rooms on a plot allocated for Telecom Foundation in Sector I-9 Industrial Area. Notices were served to demolish the remaining two rooms within a day. Should the owner of the rooms fail to heed the notice, action will be taken and the rooms will be demolished by the authority, officials warned.

Furthermore, building material depots established between street 23 and 27 of Sector I-10/4 were also removed.

Teams from Enforcement Directorate also stopped work on three under-construction plazas in Jinnah Garden Society.
