600 Basant festival lawbreakers produced in courts

Most accused were nabbed during celebrations in different areas of Faisalabad

More than 600 people were arrested and produced in the courts for violating kite flying, aerial firing and loudspeaker acts during the Basant festival.

The court granted bail to most of the accused and released them.

According to sources, Basant festival was celebrated by many young people in different areas of Faisalabad on Saturday and police arrested more than 600 people during a crackdown in different areas.

A total of 10 accused were arrested by Civil Lines division police, five accused were caught by Rail Bazaar police, whereas Kotwali police arrested ten accused, 57 suspects in Jhang bazaar, 40 accused in Gulberg while Ghulam Muhammadabad police arrested 61 suspects.


Punjab govt shelves plans to celebrate Basant

Raziabad police arrested 12 accused, Batala Colony police arrested 74 suspects while D-type Colony police arrested 32 violators.

Meanwhile, Factory Area police caught 43 suspects, Samanabad police arrested 70 accused while Saddar police arrested 13 suspects. People's Colony police arrested 31 suspects, Madina Town police arrested 64 accused, Sargodha Road police booked 37 violators while Mansoorabad police arrested 47 accused. Millat Town police arrested eight suspects involved in kite flying.

After police registered separate cases against the accused, they were presented in different courts where bail was granted to most of the accused and notices have been issued to the accused involved in the kite flying cases.
