“Being the provincial minister and an ally of the BAP led government in the province, we stand by Chief Minister Jam Kamal’s vision for education,” Rind said while talking to a news channel, vowing to use all his expertise to establish schools for secondary education across the province.
Rind said the government would establish model schools while every district will also have hostels and boarding schools.
“I have accepted the portfolio of education considering it a challenge because previous regimes neglected this sector,” he added.
“Provincial youth is immensely talented but they lack opportunities. The current government, however, will ensure the provision of opportunities to youngsters,” PTI provincial president said, pledging to eradicate corruption from the education department.
Earlier, Rind said practical measures were being taken to improve facilities in educational institutions for achieving targets of quality education in rural areas of the province.
He expressed these views while talking to member of provincial assembly (MPA) Haji Mir Zahid Raki who called on him at his office here. Matters pertaining to education sector, facilities at schools and other related problems of the province were discussed during the meeting.
The minister said he was striving to ensure attendance of teachers and reopen schools which were closed in rural areas of province, saying no one would be allowed to take salaries while sitting at home.
Rind said thousands of children, including girls were deprived of education due to ghost teachers who were absent from schools and were receiving salaries from home, asserting that such staff members are also a burden on education sector, vowing strict action against them for the better future of the students.
