Robber killed in incident

Two bandits intercepted the motorcyclists, attempted to loot them at gunpoint

FAISALABAD: A robber was killed whereas three villagers sustained injuries in a dacoity incident in the area of Mamonkanjan police.

Police officials said on Wednesday that Ghulam Abbas, resident of Chak No 511-GB along with his friends Saleem and Ejaz were travelling on a motorcycle when two bandits intercepted them and attempted to loot them at gunpoint.

The motorcyclists resisted and raised hue and cry over which the villagers of nearby locality reached the spot and attempted to overpower the dacoits.

During this action, the robbers and three villagers sustained injuries. On information, the area police also reached the crime scene and shifted the injured villagers and dacoits to a hospital where one of the outlaws expired. The killed bandit was identified as Saeed, son of Habibullah, while his accomplice Azhar, resident of Rehmay Shah, is under treatment.
