ISLAMABAD: The Uzbek embassy in Islamabad hosted its Armed Forces Day in style with an Uzbek Army Band performing while a cultural troupe danced to the traditional tunes.

The audience was left spell-bound when an Uzbek female army officer sang the famous Pakistani song ‘Chanda karay salam, suraj karay salam’.

Another hallmark of the event was the mesmerising performances of Uzbek children clad in traditional Uzbek dresses.

The performers received a huge round of applause from the audience. Last but not least, the Uzbek pilaf (pulao) was yet another delicacy that attracted the attention of food lovers.

The Uzbek Ambassador Furqat Sidiqov in his remarks said he was delighted to present these traditional Uzbek delicacies and tunes to the people of Pakistan.
