The race was aimed at recording protest against Indian brutalities and illegal occupation of the disputed Himalayan territory that has been under a curfew for over five consecutive months.
The cycling competition started from Zero Point and culminated at Faisal Mosque. Strict security measures had been taken on the occasion. Talking to the media after the race, Islamabad Deputy Commissioner (DC) Hamza Shafqaat said that the district administration has been preparing to observe Kashmir Day in a befitting manner.
Dilating on the events organised to observe the day, he said that the district administration will organise a marathon on February 3. It will be followed by an event in collaboration with the National Highway Authority.
