‘Honour’ Killing: Man shoots sister for returning home

When Shahnaz arrived at her parents house, brother confronted her and refused to let her enter through the main door

MULTAN: A married woman was allegedly shot and killed by her brother over suspicion on Thursday. According to police officials, Kotli Sadat resident Shahnaz Mai tried to run away from her husband Iqbal’s house and went to her parent’s house in Alpa Lari Mor. Shahnaz escaped her husband’s house on Wednesday night after the couple had a quarrel over a monetary dispute. When Shahnaz arrived at her parents house her brother confronted her and refused to let her enter through the main door saying that this would dishonour the entire family. Her brother Afzal then shot her when she insisted on being let into the house. Afzal fled the house following the shooting. Alpa Police officials have registered a case and are searching for the accused in Kotli and other areas.
