Twitter isn't ready for the new PSL anthem 'Tayyar Hain'
Others include old familiar faces such as ex- Awaz front man Haroon Rashid and the legendary Arif Lohar. Zulfi is also seen with his entourage of drummers banging to the beat of the anthem.
Aside from the performers, the video also features certain cricketers representing each team. Quetta Gladiators skipper Sarfaraz Ahmed is seen in the locker room practicing his swing.Likewise an intense Shaheen Afridi is also shown perfecting his craft in the bowling cages.
Meanwhile Hasan Ali is away from the action only waving at Peshawar Zalmi fans. Weirdly enough, there's a glimpse of Shah Masood crawling and feeling the pitch. Among other things, Fawad Alam makes a cameo albeit only as a photograph at a barber shop with a Lahore Qalandar fan using it as a reference for grooming his own mustache. The video is directed by Laal Kabootar's Kamal Khan.
Unlike the name, it appears that the public was far from ready for the anthem. Since it's release a lot of people have expressed their dismay at the song on Twitter.
"The new PSL 2020 song Tayyar Hain is so bad that I couldn't even watch the whole thing," one user said. "Gimme a break , feeling nauseous after listening to this !" another tweeted. One fan described it as a 'waste of time'. "Tayyar hain? Bilkul nahi (Are we ready? Not at all). What a waste of time listening to this PSL V anthem.Rejected! " he fan said.
Many fans were concerned that the quality of PSL anthems and patriotic numbers as a whole is declining every year.
"The nation is use to listen Dil Dil Pakistan, Tera Karam, Ay Jawan and Seeti baje ge now have to bear Tayar Hain. (Tayar Hain for mental torture). Music director tried to add every type of instrument and vocal in one song seems to forget what he really wants to make" a fan shared.
Singer Ali Zafar who performed the anthem Dil Se Jaan Laga De back in 2018 was greatly missed by many.
"Ali Zafar please comeback and release PSL song please cause no one can beat the standard that you've set so please comeback," a fan lamented.
"I said it last year, I'm saying it again. No one can beat Ali Zafar in PSL anthems!'Phir seeti baje gi, stage saje ga' and 'Dil se jaan laga de' forever!," another fan reminisced.
However there were those that called the degree of hate the song was getting as unwarranted. Many believed that the song will eventually catch on and fans would start loving it.
"In my opinion with repetition the song will grow on you. The song is designed perhaps to be played in stadiums and I feel it will sound good there for sure!" a fan said.
Some pointed out that last year the same phenomena was observed the anthem Khel Deewano Ka.
"By the way, last year's anthem Khel Deewano Ka. Initially, it didn't feel so good but gradually with time, it grew on me and I started to like it a lot when the season started," a user said.
