The Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and Industry, the All Pakistan Textile Mills Association and other businessmen have complained that problems of taxpayers have increased after the formation of the department. They said that due to unawareness of relevant laws, such adjudication orders were being passed against taxpayers, which were contrary to the laws.
The document said the department would take a long time before being able to provide integrated and quality services and before that it should be divided into two categories.
According to the document, professionals and experts in their fields should be appointed as member inland revenue income tax and member inland revenue sales tax and federal excise. However, final decision on splitting the department will be taken by the finance minister.
