Lauding the US for taking action against the airline and imposing a $50,000 fine upon them for kicking Muslims passengers off-board, Mehwish tweeted, "A nice slap on the wrists. I am glad that the US authorities have fined the airline."
A nice slap on the wrists.. I am glad that the US authorities have fined the airline. It is a sad state of affairs that has bought us to this. Perceptions have to change and people have to be more tolerant of one another irrespective of background, religion or appearance. https://t.co/7HXPcwT8oK

According to the U.S. Transportation Department, Delta violated their anti-bias laws by removing the passengers, reported Daily Mail. Praising this very action, Mehwish reiterated the importance of changing how we see others.
"Perceptions have to change and people have to be more tolerant of one another irrespective of background, religion or appearance," she said.
Even though Delta has consistently denied that it pandered to other passengers and subsequently asked three Muslim passengers in two separate incidents, they agreed it could have handled the situations differently.
This is not the first time that Mehwish has spoken up about important issues - she has been quite vocal specially post her Tamgha-e-Imtiaz win. The Load Wedding actor has gone at heads with Aamir Liaquat over his sexist comments and called out the Karachi airport staff for its negligence among other things in recent times.
