After the ongoing wheat and sugar crises, a milk crisis is set to take its toll as a result of this development. Speaking to reporters at Lahore Press Club, the associations’ leaders Dr Arshad Zafar and Shakir Omar Gujar said that agricultural commodities are being exported without fulfilling the domestic requirement.
They said the new rate for milk consumers should be set at Rs150 per litre, while for farmers and middlemen, a price of Rs135 per litre should be notified.
They said bran’s rate is Rs1,600 per 40kg while that of wheat is Rs1,365. They said the rate of any byproduct anywhere in the world cannot be more than half that of a crop.
