The Hyderabad circuit bench also ordered SSGC to submit a reply on February 6 explaining why the court’s decision had not been implemented following the Supreme Court’s rejection of the company’s appeal.
The petitioners had submitted a plea stating that the company was not complying with court orders. The bench had ordered the company to regularise all employees working on contract as per the law, on January 24, 2019.
SSGC had challenged the judgment in the Supreme Court, which turned down the appeal and upheld the SHC’s order on January 7. Last year, the SHC gave the company two months to regularise its staff.
According to the petitioners’ counsel, 8,000 SSGC employees were working on contract.
