The fashionable Royal typically sticks to cooler colors such as blues, greens, purple and the occasional muted yellow. However during a recent event, the mother of three broke free from her sartorial comfort zone in favour of a rarely worn hue - red.
In the midst of #Megxit, Kate seemed as collected as ever while hosting a reception at Buckingham Palace in honour of the U.K.-Africa Investment Summit. The Royal arrived in a glittering red midi gown by Needle & Thread with sheer beaded sleeves and a tulle skirt, reported InStyle.

The Duchess complemented the dramatic dress with a matching gold-accented clutch and cherry red pumps. Her signature blowout appeared as bouncy as ever.
Prince William stood by her side in a navy suit and a plum-colored tie. During the reception, the Royal reminded the crowd of his special relationship with Africa.
“The African continent holds a very special place in my heart,” Prince William explained. “It is the place my father took my brother and me shortly after our mother died. And when deciding where best to propose to Catherine, I could think of no more fitting place than Kenya to get down on one knee.”
Kate is constantly praised for her understated, elegant fashion choices. Last week, the Duchess made headlines once more by pairing a forest green Alexander McQueen coat, Zara dress and Zeen earrings she debuted during her Royal tour of Pakistan.
This was the third time Kate opted to wear the earrings. During her trip last year, the Duchess donned a traditional shalwar kameez, an ombré turquoise dress and pants by Catherine Walker and cream-colored heels with the same earrings.
