The meeting of the cabinet’s ECC chaired by Finance Advisor Dr Abdul Hafeez Sheikh will be held today (Monday).
According to the copy of the agenda of the ECC meeting obtained by The Express Tribune, the report regarding the exemption of 5 per cent sales tax on cotton seed oil cake used as fodder will be presented in the meeting.
After reviewing the report, it will be decided to approve the exemption of sales tax of five per cent. In addition, the ECC meeting will also present a comprehensive report on autonomous assurances from the Ministry of Finance.
The ECC meeting will also review the summary sent by the Ministry of Trade to change the cash development loan of the Lahore Garments City Company into a grant.
Similarly, the ECC will also review the approval of the technical supplementary grant of over Rs458 million for the allowances of armed forces and law enforcement agencies personnel sent as the United Nations Peace Corps.
According to the document, in the meeting, it is possible to approve a technical supplementary grant of over Rs10.83 million to the Ministry of Information Technology for implementation of the government's e-commerce programme.
Under this Centralised Procurement System of ICT, the infrastructure will be introduced to ensure e-residence.
The centralised system of e-procurement in the federal capital will be implemented while the meeting will also review the approval of the technical supplementary grant for National Book Foundation provided to the Ministry of Federal Education and Professional Training.
