Sindh government requests immediate transfer of police
In response, the Establishment Division said that Sindh government’s request was under consideration, however, Dr Kaleem Imam will continue to serve as IGP as an additional IG cannot be appointed as acting IG until a final decision is made in this regard.
Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah, along with other cabinet members, are deliberating a response.
The letter issued by the Sindh services secretary stated that “the provincial cabinet is unanimous of the view that the Sindh IGP has lost the confidence of the provincial government due to his inability to lead the Sindh police, observe federal and provincial laws, control crimes and improve the general law and order situation in the province. Therefore, he may be recalled immediately”.
