Punjab Secretary Excise and Taxation Kundi ordered to speed up operations against defaulters for recovery of Rs1. 25bn

MULTAN: Punjab Secretary Excise and Taxation Wajihullah Kundi directed the officials to speed up operations against defaulters for recovery of Rs1. 25 billion.

He was presiding over a meeting during his visit to the city on Friday. Kundi also reviewed performance of officials and directed them to further improve their performance.

He also gave a plan to officials and asked them to pay special attention to the recovery of dues from defaulters. The secretary ordered for expediting pace on property tax survey so that new buildings could be brought into the tax net.

He said an excise police station would be made operational by June to curb drug peddlers. Meanwhile, Excise Taxation and Narcotics Director Abdullah Khan told APP that the secretary had given a recovery plan to officials. He added that about Rs1.25 billion recovery target had been set by June 30.

He said that excise teams issued arrest warrants to 500 property tax defaulters.
