DERA GHAZI KHAN:
Two dozen unidentified heavily armed men resorted to aerial firing along the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (K-P)-Punjab boundary on Tuesday. Sources added that the men, who entered the vicinity of the Lakhani post of the Border Military Police (BMP), also chanted pro-Taliban slogans. The BMP is the sole organisation responsible for maintaining law and order in the area and protecting provincial boundaries. The incident created a sense of insecurity among the residents of adjacent villages, although the armed men crossed the border back to K-P after patrolling the area for a while. Commandant BMP of Dera Ghazi Khan, Wali Mohammad Braich, confirmed the incident of aerial firing but denied that the men chanted slogans in favour of the Taliban.
