COLOMBO: Sri Lanka’s first Twenty20 tournament, which promised to rival the hugely popular Indian Premier League (IPL), begins today amid doubts about its interest even for domestic cricket fans. Local stars like Tillekaratne Dilshan, Kumar Sangakkara,  Mahela Jayawardene, and Angelo Mathews are expected to skip the action. Sri Lanka Cricket has begun selling the tournament as a way of nurturing young talent.
