In an exclusive meeting with Lahore Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LCCI) President Irfan Iqbal Sheikh, Sanjrani said that the private sector needs to become proactive and market their products better in order to meet international standards and compete effectively.
The chairman urged the businessmen to identify hurdles that come in the way of adding value to products and share these problems with the government so that a resolution can be reached for the same. The businessmen were also urged to explore untapped markets which offer good potential for improving trade and exports.
He assured that the government would play the role of a facilitator while entrepreneurs have to take the lead to improve trade, exports and the economy.
“The government is committed to overcome all economic challenges in cooperation with all stakeholders including businessmen and the civil society,” he added
Sanjrani said that the role of entrepreneurs is decisive to improve trade, exports, tax revenue and jobs. He said that the trade and parliamentary delegation can play a fundamental role in promotion of exports, trade and investment.
He also assured full support of parliament to the LCCI president for its endeavours aimed at economic stability of the country.
Also speaking on the occasion, LCCI President Irfan Iqbal Sheikh informed the Senate chairman that though macroeconomic indicators are showing consistent improvement exports of the country are not up to the mark.
