
In this regard, a memorandum of understanding (MoU) was signed between the Islamabad Metropolitan Corporation (IMC) and the Islamabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ICCI) on Thursday promote the ‘Go Green Islamabad’ campaign. ICCI President Ahmed Waheed and Islamabad Mayor Sheikh Anser Aziz signed the MoU at a ceremony at the IMC.
According to the agreement, the IMC will identify and allocate sites where the ICCI will plant fruit and flower-bearing trees. Moreover, the IMC will provide the requisite resources for levelling and landscaping the identified sites and deploy the necessary staff to maintain the saplings.
Speaking at the occasion, Aziz said that every citizen should contribute towards making Pakistan an environment-friendly country by minimising the impact of climate change phenomenon.
He lauded ICCI’s initiative of launching the ‘Go Green Islamabad’ campaign and assured that the IMC will provide all possible support to make this drive successful.
