Ameeran, 14, was taken away forcefully by over 20 armed men in the border area of Kashoba.
Ameeran’s brother had allegedly run away with the wife of Sona Khan’s son with whom he had an extramarital affair.
Sona Khan requested the local Panchayat to decide the matter, on which the Panchayat, following their customary practices, gave the ruling that the sister of the accused be handed over to Sona Khan’s.
As per the verdict by the Panchayat, Nora Hussain’s daughter and sister of Kala Hussain will be handed over to Sona Khan’s family, Kala Hussain would be shot dead if seen anywhere and would not be allowed to enter the area. The Panchayat also decided that the woman who fled with Hussain, will be sold, if captured. After the verdict of the Panchayat, over 20 armed men attacked Noor Baloch’s house and took Ameeran along with them.

Ameeran’s father said the centuries-old custom destroyed the life of his daughter. The family of the abducted girl demanded of the Punjab Chief Minister Usman Buzdar to take rigorous action against these practices which were decaying the society.
Border Military Police (BMP) Commandant Syed Musa Raza told The Express Tribune that after receiving information BMP station has been given strict instructions on which an FIR was registered against 16 nominated and seven unidentified suspects.
