While it's long been a night for making bold fashion statements, this year was a little underwhelming with some of our favourite A-listers simply missing the mark.
Jennifer Lopez, who for many years has been a fashion favourite of the night, wore a very debatable Vaentino ball gown which some are praising while some are definitely not.
Meanwhile, lesser-known celebrities absolutely upped the ante in fashion, overtaking many Hollywood favourites. Pink was the colour of the night, which we have to admit Priyanka rocked the trend out the ballpark.
Here are the celebrities that made it to our fashion cut.

Sophia Carson
At the age of 26, Carson is already a mainstay on the silver screen. And, as such, this evening’s 2020 Golden Globes red carpet is not at all intimidating to the fashion-forward brunette. Hitting the event in a pale pink perfection, Carson pulled out all the stops with her picture-perfect look from Giambattista Valli’s Fall 2019 Haute Couture collection.
Priyanka Chopra
Getting the pink trend oh-so-right, we have to admit the Bollywood star looked stunning in this Cristina Ottaviano number. But while Chopra's pink gown was gorgeous, husband Nick Jonas' oddly proportioned Prada suit and bolo tie made a poor accompaniment.
Ana de Armas
The Cuban-Spanish actor kept things drop-dead gorgeous in this simple but dramatic midnight blue gown. The sweep of the silhouette, the drama of the color and a flawlessly made-up face combined to make for an exquisitely rendered look. Known for her role in Knives Out, she was definitely a stand-out of the night.
Reese Witherspoon
The Legally Blonde star is the epitome of simplistic beauty and this year was no exception. One of the world's most famous blondes rocked her signature colour of white, stepping out in a creation by Roland Mouret. Check out neckline! Divine.
Helen Mirren
Always a lady! The 74-year-old beauty delighted onlookers in her dazzling crimson gown and also decked herself out in a whopping $4 million worth of Harry Winston diamonds!
Dakota Fanning
The Once Upon a Time in Hollywood star is all-grown up and doesn't she look like a princess! The voluminous, prom-style, frothy number by Dior was a great choice for the night. The bombastic skirt is leveled out with puff sleeves and plaited waist detail.

Worst dressed
Jennifer Lopez
No! While nominees should show up to major awards shows looking like they’re ready to pose holding a trophy, J Lo’s exuberant gown looked a bit too much like something you’d literally see in a trophy case.
Charlize Theron
We usually love anything the South African A-lister wears, but this Dior number missed the mark. The bold green draped over another of those visible-boning bodices makes it look like the gown is either falling off or incomplete.
Margot Robbie
The Australian beauty has had an amazing few years in Hollywood, starring in some big films such as Once Upon a Time in Hollywood, Suicide Squad and Bombshell. However, the actor did not dress for the occasion looking like the star she is. Choosing a gown with a heavily-beaded bodice and a skirt that looked a bit like an afterthought. The very definition of a scroll-down letdown.
