On 3 January, a US airstrike killed Iranian leader Qasem Soleimani in what is potentially the most harsh order from Trump in Middle East. Mehwish took to Twitter to express her view writing, "Can’t believe that just 72 hours into 2020 & the world is already teetering on the edge of war."
Can’t believe that just 72 hours into 2020 & the world is already teetering on the edge of war. I guess this is wht happens when the "leader of the free world"takes unilateral decisions without regard for international laws. This isn’t just abt Iran &USA.God protect us #Soleimani

"I guess this is what happens when the 'leader of the free world' takes unilateral decisions without regard for international laws," she went on.
Now, days after her tweet, TV host Aamir Liaquat who is known for his questionable antics in recent times, tweeted about her stance.
"Tamgha-e-Imtiaz ka matlab ye nahi ke item girl imtiazi bayanat den. (Getting a Tamgha-e-Imtiaz doesn't mean that an item girl is fit to make distinctive remarks.)," he wrote, explicitly labeling her as a mere item girl (dancing girl).
https://t.co/NfDnwFaPSo

He then went on to make even more absurd remarks. "Aur waise bhi Qasem Soleimani agar hayat hote tou kia Iran mai inhe perform karne bulate? (And if Qasem Soleimani was alive, do you think he would've invited her to perform in Iran?)."
Not one to stay quiet, Mehwish got back at him in a lengthy tweet. "This 'item girl' is exercising her democratic right to have an opinion whereas you keep stooping to making personal jibes and nothing more. Man up!" she hit back.
This "item girl" is exercising her democratic right to have an opinion whereas you keep stooping to making personal jibes and nothing more. Man up! BTW whatever happened to the case you were filing against me for “Load Wedding”? I have been waiting with bated breath ...

Mehwish also reminded him about his earlier threats to drag the cast and crew of the movie Load Wedding to the courts. "By the way, whatever happened to the case you were filing against me for Load Wedding? I have been waiting with bated breath," she quipped.
In March of 2019, the talk show host claimed that he will take Load Wedding actors and directors to court for maligning his reputation through their film.
Seems like the two still have a lot of unfinished business to sort out.
