Drug peddlers, bootleggers held in Rawalpindi

RAWALPINDI: The Rawalpindi police on Saturday arrested as many as 15 people, including a woman, in an action against suspected drug smugglers and bootleggers.

The police also recovered a huge cache of drugs, including heroin, and liquor from their possession.

A police spokesperson said that the Airport police apprehended 10 suspects, including a woman and seized two-kilogrammes (kg) of heroin and five-litres liquor from them. Similarly, the Westridge police launched an action and arrested four suspects, identified as Tanvir, Nadeem, Abdullah and Zohaib for public intoxication.

The RA Bazaar police booked Umair and seized five-litres of liquor from him.

The spokesperson said that separate cases have been registered against all suspects and the investigations have been launched against them.
