“The arrested suspects also include Afghan nationals who used to decamp to Afghanistan after committing crimes here,” Operations DIG Waqaruddin Syed said at a press conference held at Rescue 15 headquarter on Friday.
DIG operations said that seven of the suspects were from the Satti Gang known for Rawal Town Post Office heist. Police recovered Rs5.6 million looted from the post office besides guns, vehicle and bikes used in the robbery.
He said a trio of Afghan nationals was arrested for armed robbery at a house in Orchard Scheme in Khana area. Syed said the suspects had looted national and foreign currency, imported weapons, gold and watches worth Rs12.1 million were recovered from them.
He said four maids gave intoxicants to their employers and ‘cleaned’ the house. Police recovered cash and gold worth Rs5.1 million from them. Four burglars were arrested for stealing laptops and gold worth Rs0.95 million. Four street criminals of another gang were held and mobile phones, cash worth Rs250,000 were recovered from them.
