Hamza judicial remand extended

The court also allowed extension in judicial remand of Yousaf Abbas for 14 days

LAHORE: An accountability court granted an extension in judicial remand of Punjab Assembly Opposition Leader Hamza Shahbaz.

The accused was presented before the court in Ramzan Sugar Mills case after the expiry of the remand. Strict security measures were made on the occasion.

In the case, the court asked to present the record and adjourned the hearing till January 17.

In another case related to Chaudhry Sugar Mills, an accountability court granted an exemption to former prime minister Nawaz Sharif from appearing before the court. The defence counsel pleaded before the court that his client Nawaz was sick and going through treatment abroad. The court allowed the exemption after looking into medical reports. The court allowed extension in judicial remand of Yousaf Abbas for 14 days in the case and adjourned the hearing till January 17.
