Sanaullah appointed new K-P police chief
Sanaullah Abbasi replaces incumbent K-P Inspector General of Police (IGP) Dr Naeem Khan
PESHAWAR:
The federal government on Wednesday appointed Sanaullah Abbasi as the new chief of police in Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa (K-P).
Abbasi, a basic pay scale (BPS) grade-21 officer, replaces incumbent K-P Inspector General of Police (IGP), Dr Naeem Khan. Reliable sources told The Express Tribune that a notification for Abbasi’s appointment was issued after the move was approved by Prime Minister Imran Khan. Sources added PM Khan was reportedly unhappy with the performance of Dr Naeem, who had been installed in February last year.
Moreover, the provincial leadership of Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf had also requested his removal. Abbasi was previously serving as the IGP of Gilgit-Baltistan.
