Tribunal voids election of two BAP MPAs

A bench headed by Justice Nazir Ahmed Langove directed ECP to suspend the victory notifications of both candidates

QUETTA: An election tribunal on Tuesday voided the election of two members of the Balochistan Assembly, Abdul Rehman Khetran and Akbar Askani, as it decided election petitions filed against them. Both are affiliated with the Balochistan Awami Party (BAP), the major partner in the provincial ruling coalition.

A bench headed by Justice Nazir Ahmed Langove conducted the hearing and directed the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) to suspend the victory notifications of both candidates.

The petitions against Sardar Abdul Rehman Khetran and Akbar Askani had been filed by Abdul Kareem Khetran of the National Party and Asghar Rind respectively.
