New Year's Eve: Sindh CM directs police not to harass people

Murad Ali Shah also lifts ban on pillion riding

KARACHI: Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah has directed the police not to harass those who come out to celebrate the New Year on Tuesday.

In a statement, he also directed the Sindh home department to lift the ban on pillion riding, and remove all barriers and containers from the roads leading to Sea View in Karachi.

Earlier, the home department had issued a notification banning pillion riding, carrying firearms and aerial firing on the New Year's Eve.

Extending New Year greetings to the people, Shah urged the people of the metropolitan city, particularly youngsters, to behave responsibly and not violate any law.

He also called on the people to pray for prosperity of Pakistan, national unity and strengthening of democracy in the country.
