CDA seals 13 buildings for violating regulations
Carries out an anti-encroachment operation on IJP Road
ISLAMABAD:
The Capital Development Authority (CDA) on Monday 13 buildings over violations of building and zoning regulations.
CDA had issued warnings to the owners of these premises earlier, however, these people ignored repeated notices, following which their buildings were sealed, till such time that they correct the irregularities.
In continuation of anti-encroachment drive, the Enforcement Directorate of the authority conducted operations on the green belts of IJ Principal Road from Sector I-10 up to Carriage Factory boundary in Sector I-11 and removed 275 illegal kiosks.
After removing encroachments, the area was handed over to the environment Staff of the Islamabad Metropolitan Corporation (IMC) to plant trees on the green belt and to restore its green nature. Directions were issued to ensure strict vigilance so that encroachments do not crop up on the site again.
Similarly, a house, hotel and cabin of a mechanic have been also dismantled in Sector F-11 Markaz. Moreover, a building material depot near Street 11, in Sector G-11/1 was also removed.
As part of its operation against violators of the Islamabad Building and Zoning Regulations 2005 in different housing societies situated in Zone II and V of the city, Capital Development Authority’s (CDA) has sealed 13 more commercial buildings on Monday.
In a statement issued by the authority, the operation was conducted by the Building Control Directorate–II with the assistance of Islamabad Capital Territory Administration (ICTA). Officials of the CDA Enforcement Directorate and other relevant departments took part in the operation. Police were present to provide back up for preventing any untoward situation.
During the action taken on Monday, teams of Building Control Directorate-II sealed 13 premises in a private housing society which include buildings constructed on four plots in Block D and one plot in Block A.
The officials also sealed a mall and residential block for violating Islamabad Building and Zoning Regulations 2005. Similarly, seven buildings built on eight plots and a building constructed on two plots in the society were sealed for violating Islamabad Building and Zoning Regulations and other violations.
