15 suspects arrested across the city

AVLC recovers three stolen cars, two stolen motorcycles

KARACHI: Law enforcement agencies arrested 15 suspects from different areas of the city on Saturday, recovering weapons and stolen property from their possession.

According to sources, the police arrested six suspects from various areas of the city early on Saturday. The suspects are accused of murder, intention of murder, robbery and street crimes. Police seized illegal weapons, drugs, exported mobile phones and motorcycles from their possession.

Law enforcement personnel also detained three suspects, reportedly belonging to a banned organisation, during two targeted operations on Hub River Road. According to the police, the operations were carried out based on information from previously arrested suspects.

Meanwhile, the Anti-Vehicle Lifting Cell (AVLC) arrested three suspects during an operation in North Nazimabad. The arrested men were identified as Asif Ali Lashari, Abdul Qadir Chandio and Asghar Ali Ansari. Officials said that three stolen cars were recovered from the suspects. They claimed that the apprehended men had also been arrested and jailed before, adding that existing cases are registered against them in Korangi Industrial Area, Gulshan-e-Maymar, North Nazimabad, Aziz Bhatti, Sharafi Goth and Gulistan-e-Jauhar police stations.

AVLC personnel also arrested three members of a gang involved in the theft of motorcycles from Baldia Town. The suspects were identified as Faisal Ali alias Anwar, Ayaz Ahmed and Salman alias Nata. Five motorcycles were seized from their possession, including two that had been stolen from within the jurisdictions of Madina Colony and Iqbal Market police. Police claimed that they were carrying out investigations into other members of the gang.
