KARACHI:

The Union of Small and Medium Enterprises (Unisame) has hailed the proposal of President Asif Ali Zardari for a currency swap with Iran and said that it is a very positive step which will resolve difficulties faced by Pakistani exporters to Iran and will boost trade.

Unisame President Zulfikar Thaver said that due to the embargo imposed on Iran, Pakistani exporters were compelled to ship goods through UAE since Pakistan is linked to the US dollar and trade through an intermediary proves costly. He said that any agreement between Iran and Pakistan to swap currencies will be a wise decision.
