“Jam Sahib [Jam Kamal Khan] has a good vision for the province but he did not prove himself to be a good chief minister,” said Abdul Quddus Bizenjo while speaking to journalists the other day in the provincial capital.
He questioned the performance of Jam Kamal calling him a “weak” chief minister and said that he would not “let BAP get tarnished due to the weak performance of one man”.
Bizenjo declared that people had reposed their trust in BAP in the general election so that their problems could be solved.
“We had decided to work as a team in order to address the issues of Balochistan. We are answerable to the masses,” he noted.
“We do not get elected to enjoy the protocol. We have to serve the people. They are losing faith in BAP,” he added.
It was Bizenjo who had played a major role in toppling the government of Nawab Sanaullah Zehri during the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz regime in January 2018.
The Zehri-led Balochistan government was toppled following the no-confidence motion tabled by Bizenjo, who later served as the Balochistan chief minister for almost six months.
On the other hand, provincial finance minister Zahoor Buledi, who also hails from BAP lashed out at Bizenjo for his accusations and asked him to discuss the issue with the cabinet or Jam Kamal himself.
“Balochistan Awami Party and the coalition government are moving forward under the leadership of Chief Minister Jam Kamal Khan and the claims of rifts within the provincial government are baseless,” he said.
Buledi made these remarks while addressing a news conference at chief minister’s secretariat on Friday.
He was accompanied by provincial ministers Sardar Abdul Rehman Khetran and Saleem Khosa and provincial government spokesperson Liaquat Shahwani who also categorically rejected Bizenjo’s claims.
Questioning the attendance of Bizenjo, Buledi said that the provincial assembly speaker should ensure his presence in the Balochistan Assembly.
“I believe the speaker should be serious toward functionality of Balochistan Assembly because being speaker he merely attended17 proceedings out of 147 sessions.”
Buledi said that all the members of Balochistan Awami Party respected CM Jam Kamal.
He suggested that Bizenjo should have used the proper forum to express his concerns.
“Instead of using social media platform, Bizenjo should have approached the cabinet members or even the chief minister to share his views on the government’s performance.”
The ruling ministers also slammed the opposition parties for uproar in the provincial assembly.
“The opposition members in last week’s session set a sit-in inside the assembly and suddenly ended the protest. Now they are attempting to achieve incomplete agenda by spreading false allegations against provincial the government,” one of the ministers said.
The provincial ministers lamented over opposition’s claims of in-house change with the support of treasury members.
Buledi also gave the details of the issuance of funds, saying, “The provincial government has released Rs91 billion for non-development programme, while Rs36 billion for development schemes.”
