‘Honour’ Killing: Man kills sister for rejecting proposal

GUJRANWALA: A 16-year-old youth strangled his older sister on Monday. According to police officials, Chak 46-RG resident Yasir Khan strangled his sister Safia with her dupatta while she was asleep on Monday morning. Neighbours told police officials that Safia’s parents had allowed her to marry the man of her choice even though they had previously planned a match elsewhere. Safia broke off her engagement two days ago but her brother disapproved of their parent’s decision. Police have registered a case and are searching for the accused.
