Pakistan is home to everyone, including minorities, said the Pakistan Sindh Rangers Director-General (DG) Major General Omar Ahmed on Monday. Speaking as chief guest at a programme arranged by the Sindh Rangers, the DG thanked Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah for having given us a separate country and an independent identity in the region and across the world. The event, a 'Faith Declamation Contest', was held at Karachi University's (KU) HEJ Prof Salimuzzaman Siddiqui Auditorium, in honour of the Quaid's 144th birth anniversary. The programme was part of a campaign arranged by the Sindh Rangers, 'Shukriya Jinnah'. The campaign aims to pay tribute to the leadership and vision of the Quaid.
Pakistan is one of the most beautiful and peaceful countries in the world, said the DG. According to him, not only different Muslim communities, but various religious minorities and ethnic groups are living peacefully in Pakistan. He thanked the Almighty for our beautiful motherland and also the Quaid.

Different schools and colleges participated in the contest and awards were distributed among the winners. The DG said that declamation contests are part of creating awareness among the masses. It also shows that the youth is talented and capable of expressing what they see and feel, he added.
The DG observed that the incident at Army Public School happened five years ago but the pain of the victims' families is still acutely felt. He assured that violence would not be tolerated in the society under any condition and that the Rangers would not let the people down.
