Police using digital means to trace suspects

RAWALPINDI: A passerby was killed on Sunday when a robbery went awry in the Chamanabad neighbourhood within the remits of the Naseerabad police station. As news of the incident spread, Rawalpindi City Police Officer (CPO) Ahsan Younus visited the site and condoled with the deceased’s family.

He ordered to utilise all available resources to trace the suspects within two weeks. The victim, identified as Fida Muhammad, was passing by a store which was being robbed.

Suddenly, the robbers inside started firing and Muhammad was caught by one of the bullets. He was severely injured. He was rushed to the hospital, however, he succumbed to his wounds. Potohar SP told CPO Younus that forensic teams have collected all evidence from the site and that they are investigating the incident.

He added that they were using modern digital means to trace the suspects apart from analyzing footage from nearby CCTV cameras.
