RAWALPINDI: The civic institutions of the garrison city have developed a consensus to change the outlook of the city.

The civic authorities including Rawalpindi Cantonment Board (RCB), Chaklala Cantonment Board (CCB), Parks and Horticulture Authority (PHA) Rawalpindi, Rawalpindi Development Authority (RDA) and Water and Sanitation Agency (WASA) have decided to take combined measures for the beautification of Rawalpindi. The authorities vowed to convert the city into a model city of Punjab.

This decision was taken in a joint meeting attended by Station Commander Brigadier Aijaz Kyani, WASA Managing Director (MD) Muhammad Tanveer and PHA Director General (DG) Shafqat Raza.

Under the joint project, the institutions will work together on some 11 different projects and the funds for this purpose will be arranged by the related institutions as well.

However, the institutions have also decided to seek help from the Rawalpindi Chamber of Commerce and Industries (RCCI), Punjab and federal governments, members of national and provincial assemblies as well as the private sector for financial assistance for the proposed project.
