LAHORE: After a meeting between the delegation of lawyers and doctors on Saturday, the process of breaking the ice between the two groups is underway.

Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar said that with the help of departments concerned, the emergency services of Punjab Institute of Cardiology (PIC) were now resumed for patients.

PIC has started functioning after the closure for two days. All services have been reopened for the patients and the doctors continued to treat patients in a routine manner. The provision of free medication is also continued.

The PIC was shut down after lawyers attacked and broke into the hospital, destroying the machinery along with torturing the patients and doctors which resulted in the death of three patients admitted in cardio. All the wards including emergency, outdoor, indoor, ICU, CCU, operation theater and laboratory are reopened now.
