400,000 children to get vaccinated in Rajanpur polio eradication drive

Campaign to continue for four days, utilising services of 1,160 teams

RAJANPUR:
Over 400,000 children aged up to five years would be vaccinated against poliovirus during a campaign scheduled to begin from December 16, health department officials said on Thursday.

The decision was undertaken in a meeting presided by Deputy Commissioner Zulfiqar Ali. District Police Officer Ahsan Saifullah ensured that foolproof security would be provided to the polio teams that would visit from home to home to vaccinate children. The campaign would continue for four days, utilising services of 1,160 teams to provide vaccination across the district, sources said.


The DC has expressed satisfaction over the arrangements made for the said drive. District Health Officer Dr Hashim Ali, Social Welfare Department Deputy Director Tehmeena Dilshad and other officers were also present on the occasion.
